TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Letizia Bagnoli will compete in the NCAA Women's Golf Regional beginning Monday at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee. The senior from Florence, Italy earned her spot by way of a victory at the Conference USA Championship last month.
Seminole Legacy Golf Club is a par-72 and will play to a length of 6,292 yards. Located on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, the course is one of the premier University golf courses in the country – and serves as the home for both the FSU Men's and Women's golf teams. The Club recently completed a comprehensive renovation of its golf facilities, led by the famed Jack Nicklaus Design Company.
The Tallahassee Regional will feature 12 teams of five players each. Bagnoli, ranked 59th in DI by Golf Stat rankings, is one six individual qualifiers. The highest ranked player in the field is South Carolina's Hannah Darling (No. 8). UCLA's Emma Spitz is ranked No. 10.
Bagnoli will tee off at 9:50 am on Monday alongside USF's Melanie Green and Arkansas State's Olivia Schmidt.
18 holes of stroke play will be played each day from Monday through Wednesday. A total of 72 teams and 36 individual participants have been selected for regional competition. Of the 396 players participating in the regionals, 132 will advance to the championship finals, with the top four teams and top two individuals (not on an advancing team) advancing from each regional.
If she goes on to win or finish second in the Tallahassee Regional, Bagnoli will advance to the NCAA National Championship in Scottsdale, Ariz. beginning May 20.
