2001: Successfully make the transition from a high school tight end to a college center...was the inaugural day snapper...an injury to his right knee prior to the Bethune-Cookman game took him out until the St. Peter's game...split time after his return...practiced at tight end several days in the spring of 2002, then moved to the defensive line.
2000: Made the transition from tight end to an offensive lineman, more specifically to center.
First player to commit to FAU.
High School: Played for Jim Longerbeam at Northeast High School...Proven high school player...was a four-year starter on both offense and defense...finished senior campaign with 42 receptions for more than 500 yards...earned second team All-State 4A...named second team All-Broward County...was the first tight end to be named to the Broward County list, no first team tight ends were named...played high school career under the direction of three head coaches...two-sport athlete (football and basketball).
From Coach Longerbeam Upon Eddie's Signing: "Eddie is a great kid. Our program and school will really miss him. He is from a really good family. He committed early to FAU, despite other schools looking at him heavily. He wanted to honor his commitment. FAU assistant coach Alfredo Roberts was a major reason for that as well as being close to home, his brother, and being part of a program front he ground up."
