2002: Played in eight games…still slowed with injury.
2001: Came into camp after spending much of the summer in the weight room and training room rehabilitating his ankle after surgery, has had surgery on both ankles...the first was prior to his senior year of high school, the second was during the 2001 summer...was diligent at the weights during the off season and was having a tremendous spring, prior to suffering a knee injury which took him out for the remainder of the spring...expected to challenge in the fall.
Coaches' Comments: First player to commit to the signing class...excellent feet for a big man...played both guard and tackle...did a lot of pulling and trapping on the offensive line...a big reason for the success of Ely's running game.
High School: Played for Steve Davis at Ely High school...earned first team all-county, second team all-state honors...helped lead Ely to the state semifinals...Dad/Broward All-star and North/South all-star participant.
Personal: Ocean Engineering major...son of John and Laurie Sobol...born October 14, 1982 in Ft. Lauderdale.
