2002: Participated in spring drills...enrolled in January…quickly became an important element of the team’s defense…vied for a starting spot each week…and was rotated according to formations…saw action in every contest…had a season high 11 tackles twice…the first was against Eastern Kentucky (9-21-02), the second against Division I-A Troy State…had two tackles for a loss of three yards against Morris Brown (11-9-02)…tallied five forced fumbles, including two against Troy…also saw time on special teams as a kick-returner and part of the unit…his longest was an 11 yard return against Troy.
At West Virginia (>00->01): As a sophomore played in 10 games, recorded two solo tackles and eight assist...as a freshman he played in 12 games and recorded seven tackles...West Virginia considered him to have tremendous raw talent and the ability to get to the ball...gained a lot of knowledge in 2001 spring drills.
High School: Played for Billy Rolle at Northwestern High School...was a three-year starter at linebacker...also saw time as the long snapper...finished with 108 tackles, two interceptions and three fumble recoveries...scored twice...once on a fumble recovery and once on an interception...named first team all-Dade and was considered a AFlorida Blue Chip@ and a Prep Star All-American...earned First team all-class 6A honors...helped to lead Northwest to an 8-3 mark as a senior...during his junior campaign he was a key component in Northwestern capturing the State Title, a year which the team finished 15-0...two-sport athlete (football and track).
