BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic men's and women's swimming and diving teams are back at the FAU Aquatic Center with a matchup against the defending NAIA national champions Keiser on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Saturday morning's meet action will begin at 10 a.m. Live results can be found on Swim Cloud.
At the FAU Aquatic Center in October of 2024, both the men and women came away victorious, with the women outscoring Keiser 234 to 64, and the men 172 to 128.
LAST TIME OUT
At the TYR Fall Classic, the men's team won the meet, scoring a total of 515 points and the women finished as runners-up in their field.
Men
- Daniel Laureyssens continued his winning ways, picking up a victory in the 200 free for the second straight week (1:38.52) and 100 free (44.40).
- James Shevchenko tallied two more event wins for the second straight meet, winning the 400 IM in 4:07.33 and 200 IM, swimming a time of 1:52.89.
- Leyton Roe added a second individual event win to his season, again in the 50 free (20.82).
- Freshman Sabian Branch picked up an event win in the 500 free (4:38.03), that was his second straight meet with an event victory.
- Simon Wright earned his first collegiate win, finishing first in the 200 back in a time of 1:52.31.
- On the diving board, junior Trevor Kuhn picked up his first two wins of the season, victorious in the 3mtr diving with a total score of 332.65 and 1mtr (282.20).
Women
- Bilú Bianchi swam to victory in the 100 breast, winning in a time of 1:02.51.
- Talitha McEwan was the first event winner of the day for the Owls, winning the 500 free in a time of 5:04.96.
- Augusta Ness won the 3mtr diving event on the diving board, totaling a score of 277.30.
- Presley Staretz earned a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:53.67).
- Nula Gow finished second in the 200 breast (2:19.67).
- In the 100 free, Ludo Pavia finished in second with a time of 52.23.
- Bella Answeeney also earned herself a second-place finish, she swam 2:09.35 in the 200 fly.
ON DECK
The Owls will have a little bit over a month off before gearing up for the Patriot Midseason Invitational hosted by George Mason. The three-day meet begins on Thursday, Nov. 20 with competition wrapping up on Saturday, Nov. 22. FAU will be looking for a third consecutive team sweep of the meet.
