BOCA RATON, Fla –
Daniel Laureyssens is ready for his moment to represent the Florida Atlantic men's swim team at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
The event will be hosted by Georgia Tech and held inside McAuley Aquatic Center from Wednesday, Mar. 25 to Saturday, Mar. 28 in Atlanta. The meet will air on ESPN+.
Laureyssens is the first male swimmer since 2006 to represent Florida Atlantic at the pinnacle college swimming meet. He will be competing in the 200 free on Thursday, and 50 free on Saturday. In both the 50 and 200 free, Laureyssens broke FAU's record multiple times this season, most recently swimming 19.43 and 1:32.42, respectively.
LAUREYSSEN'S SEASON
Besides earning the program record in the 50 and 200 free, Laureyssens' senior season accolades didn't stop there. He now owns the program record in the 100 free and 100 fly, while being a part of every program relay record. Over the course of the 2025-26 season, the Brasschaat, Belgium native finished with an impressive 12-first place finishes.
At the 2026 ASUN Championships, Laureyssens guided the Owls to a meet championship, earning three individual gold medals in the 50, 100, and 200 free events. His times in the 50 and 200 free, helped punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship meet. His medal count didn't stop there, earning three more medals on Owl relays, including two gold in the 400 and 800 free relays.
With his performance at the conference championship meet, Laureyssens was named the ASUN Male Most Outstanding Swimmer. His postseason accolades include: ASUN Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and to a spot on the Academic All-ASUN Team.

Laureyssens will be right back in the pool on Friday for the 50 free.
