BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team completed their third and final weekend of the season at the University of Miami, this time competing in the Miami Alumni Invitational. The Owls had several quality performances in one of the busiest weekends for the team's outdoor season so far.

- Kaitlyn Kirby led things off for the Owls by competing in the five of the seven heptathlon events on Friday and Saturday. Kirby won the shot put with a mark of 11.62, both her personal best and fifth all time in school history
- Cara Simpson dominated in multiple events. In in the 100m run she finished in fourth place (11.78) This time is not only her personal best but also fifth all time in school history. She also placed 11th out of 53 runners in the 200m (24.35)
- The 800m run saw solid finishes from the Owls, with Casey O'Connor (2:18.59) finishing in eighth place and Erin Shannon (2:21.41) finishing in 12th
- Both Beyonce Green and Melissa Mundell set new personal records in the 400m run. Green (58.35) and Mundell (58.48) placed 22nd and 23rd, respectively
- The 4x100 relay team (Breyanna Chambliss, Abraiya Elam, Simpson, Eriana Teague) finished with their season best time (47.07)

Next Saturday, the Owls will head to the University of Florida to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial Meet.
