Track & Field Heads to Massachusetts

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team is on the road to compete in two events this weekend: the Harvard Crimson Elite on Friday and the Boston University Scarlet & White Invitational on Saturday. These are the final indoor meets before the Conference USA Indoor Championship.
The Owls will next compete in the Conference USA Indoor Championship on February 19th and 20th.

Florida Atlantic University Athletics:
FAU Athletics is comprised of 21 intercollegiate teams involving 450 student-athletes that compete in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball, beach volleyball, cheer and dance. The Owls are a NCAA Division I-A (FBS) institution and compete in Conference USA and the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) (beach volleyball, men's swimming). The Owls have been playing football since 2001 and are a perfect 4-0 in bowl games, the most recent being a 52-28 victory over SMU in the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl. The dance team finished its 2014 season No. 8, nationally. FAU cheer won a national championship in 2016.

- The Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson saw the team continue to show growth with several personal records broken.
- Alexis Hill set a new personal record in the 5000m, finishing in seventh place at 18:41.17
- In the mile run, Casey O'Connor, finished in 16th place with a time of 5:03.63, good for ninth all time in school history
- Anna Cincotta set a personal record in her 27th place finish in the 60m hurdle (9.02)
- Several Owls set personal records in the long jump. Kaitlyn Kirby's mark of 5.39 is good for ninth all time in school history. Cincotta tied her personal record (5.34), while Dahlia Barnes broke her personal record from the mark she set last meet (5.18)
- Jessica Lambert led the way in the 800m run, finishing in 11th place with a time of 2:13.12. This is good for the seventh best time in school history. O'Connor finished in 17th place (2:16.94)
- Cara Simpson finished in 20th place in the 200m run (24.83)
