BOCA RATON, Fla. – Having not had a match in nearly a month – and none at home in over a year – the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team will play three times in three days, two on the road before, finally, Sunday's 2021 home opener.
The days of action begins Thursday in Deland, Florida, at Stetson University. First serve is 3 p.m. The following day, the Owls move further north, to play Georgia Southern, in Statesboro, at 10 a.m. And last but not least, it'll be FAU hosting USF at noon on Sunday at the FAU Tennis Complex.
Owls' Season in Review
FAU (2-3) last was able to compete on Feb. 7, a 4-3 win over South Alabama. Three scheduled matches since, all of which would have been at home, were postponed.
Owls' Weekend in Preview
Stetson (1-1) picked up their first win of the season last Friday, Feb. 26 – 6-1 over Mercer – after not having played since the season opener on Feb. 7, when they fell to Troy.
The Owls were previously supposed to play Georgia Southern (7-2) in Tallahassee on Feb. 6 (ironically, Stetson and GSU were also scheduled to battle, on Valentine's Day). The Eagles are riding a five-match winning streak, including a 3-0 record last week. They will also play Davidson tomorrow, Friday, in Statesboro.
USF (5-2) is another rescheduled Owls' opponent, a match that was to have been played in Boca Raton on Feb. 20. The Bulls have won three in a row, capped with a doubleheader sweep last weekend of South Alabama and North Florida on the road.

What's Next
Sunday against USF is actually the first of four straight home matches for the Owls, with the next three all coming next week: Wednesday, March 10 versus South Alabama (2 p.m.), Friday hosting Liberty (9:30 a.m.), and Saturday against UCF (noon).
