BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track & field team is well rested and ready to compete at the 2021 Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day championship meet hosted by UAB at the Birmingham Crossplex will begin Saturday with finals taking place Sunday.

Last Time Out

The Owls had a great showing at the Bob Pollok Invitational hosted at Clemson. FAU earned eight top-10 program performances
Madlen Kappeler won the 5000m with a time of 17:30.13, which marks the fourth best time in school history
Marisha Thompson captured 10th in the mile, as her time of 5:03.03 marked the ninth best time in school history
Cara Simpson tallied sixth place in the 60m finals with a time of 7.56, which became the fourth best mark in school history. She also logged a personal record in the long jump (5.53m) for ninth place, as well as finishing 10th in the 200m (24.89)
Jessica Lambert led the Owls' charge in the 800m in ninth place and a personal best of 2:13.96

The Indoor NCAA Championships will take place from March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Outdoor season is set to commence the weekend of Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20, as the Owls compete in the Hurricane Invitational at Miami.
