LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team earned 14th place in a jam-packed field at the Tar Heel Classic. The Owls had their best round of the tournament on Saturday, shooting 300, the ninth lowest score of the day.
"I'm glad we came back today and shot our best round of the tournament. Beating a number of teams with today's round shows progress against an elite field. On an individual note, for Amanda to birdie her last two to shoot even par today was awesome. We just played a top 30 course in the world with some of the best players in college golf. We want to be in more tournaments like this for years to come. We will keep practicing to improve and be prepared for our next event at Georgia Southern in a few weeks. Go Owls!"

GOLF FORE AFRICA
All this season the Owls will be teaming up with Golf Fore Africa to raise money for clean water in rural Africa. The team's goal is to raise enough money to build a well for a village in Zambia, providing clean water for an entire community.
One well costs $15,000 to build and brings clean water to 300 people for life. Just a $50 donation brings clean water to one person for a lifetime. To date, Golf Fore Africa has built 160 wells and FAU is looking to be the first collegiate program to raise complete funding for a well.
