Men’s Tennis Edged Out Sunday by USF

TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team fell just short in their attempt at a weekend sweep, as the Owls were bested Sunday on the road by USF, 4-3. After 10 matches on the road, FAU (5-5) next has, finally, the team's first home contests of the spring this upcoming weekend.

- FAU got the doubles point, with wins at No. 1 and No. 2
- The top duo of Jason Legall and Ignacio Garcia won, 6-2; the No. 2 combo of Mehdi Laalej and Gabriel Sidney prevailed, 6-3
- Laalej made it 2-0 with the first singles decision, winning 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 slot
- After USF took their first lead, it was-short lived. Kirac Bekisoglu at No. 2 quickly knotted things up with a 6-3, 7-5 win
- It all came down to the third set at No. 3, with Gabriel Sidney facing off against the Bulls' Pierre Luquet. Sidney took the lead early, but Luquet recovered to earn the win for the home team, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1
