BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team topped DePaul in Saturday afternoon's home opening match, 4-1. The Owls and Tennessee Tech played later Saturday, but the match was suspended due to darkness, due to resume play Sunday morning at 9 a.m. with FAU leading 3-1.
 
Notables:
	- FAU (6-5) won the first doubles match, at the No. 3 slot, with Alvaro Fernandez Horta and Mehdi Laalej, prevailing, 6-3
- However, DePaul (5-3) won the other two matchups for the match's first point
- The Owls rallied and won all four singles matches in straight sets for the day-opening win
- Ignacio Garcia put the first result in, 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot
- Giving the Owls the lead was No. 1 Kirac Bekisoglu, winning 6-3, 6-1
- Next was Jason Legall at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3
- And the clincher was earned by Laalej, taking the No. 3 battle, 6-3, 7-5
