Baseball Loses To UNO 8-4

The Florida Atlantic University baseball team lost to the University of New Orleans 8-4 on Friday night. Both teams wore stickers on their caps bearing the Virginia Tech logo, in honor of the victims of Monday's tragedy at that school.
The Privateers (26-12, 11-5 Sun Belt) got off to a quick start when Brandon Bowser led off the bottom of the first with a solo homerun. The Owls (25-15, 7-12) answered in the top of the fourth when Daniel Cook doubled up the middle to drive in Mike McKenna and tie the game. UNO responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, three coming on Greg Wolfe's homerun.
In the sixth inning, William Block stroked a two-run homer down the left field line to pull the Owls within 5-3. UNO scored three runs in the seventh off of a Brandon Kloess wild pitch and a T. J. Baxter homerun. The Owls managed a run in the top of the ninth on a Robbie Widlansky single, but would ultimately be retired to end the game.
The Owls return to action tomorrow night against New Orleans. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. eastern.
