BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic softball team notched a 5-1 victory against Tulsa on Sunday afternoon to secure the three-game series win on Joan Joyce Field at FAU Softball Stadium.
Behind an exceptional day at the plate from senior third baseman
Jesiana Mora and a complete game by pitcher
Autumn Courtney, the Owls (29-17, 10-11) defeated the Golden Hurricane (17-26, 8-13) for the second day in a row.

Jordan Clark achieved her 150th career victory, all coming in her three-and-a-half seasons at Florida Atlantic.
THE BEGINNING
The Owls put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI double by redshirt junior outfielder
Kylie Hammonds followed by a single from junior
Ciara Gibson to score Hammonds.
Courtney's first strikeout of the day came in the top of the second to retire the side and kept the Golden Hurricane scoreless.
THE TURNING POINT
Three straight hits led off the bottom of the third, culminating in a three-run homer by Mora to go up 5-0.
Courtney allowed just one hit across the next two innings to maintain a shutout.
THE FINISH
Mora continued to reach base with a walk in the bottom of the sixth while adding a stolen bag to her decorated day.
A late Golden Hurricane run in the top of the seventh was all they could muster up, with the Owls' defense producing a double play to end the game.
NOTES/NOTABLE
- In their last 24 victories, the Owls are averaging 8.6 runs per game while holding opponents to 1.8.
- Mora now has seven home runs on the season, tied for second on the team. She finished the day with a homer, double, walk, and three RBI.
- Gibson has tallied 18 RBI in her last 17 games.
- Senior catcher Chloe Yeatts reached base in six out of her seven plate appearances over the three-game series.
- Courtney is the first pitcher in the American Conference to reach 15 wins. Her ERA drops to 2.43, currently second in the league.
