THE TEAM
The young FAU squad is coming off a competitive fall schedule and is expected to be led by returners Mark Havlicek, a junior from the Czech Republic, and fellow junior and Czech Republic native Simon Myslivec.
Havlicek enters his third season as an Owl and will bring the experience of 55 career singles matches played to the otherwise young program. He was 22-10 in doubles play a year ago and holds a 31-17 career doubles mark at FAU.
Myslivec is another three-year veteran for the Owls, and like Havlicek, Myslivec excels in doubles play, where he holds a 30-13 career mark.
Several newcomers from 2025 made a mark a year ago and are expected to be major contributors in 2026. Leading the way are Jan Kusy and Segundo Goity Zapico. Kusy, also from the Czech Republic, was 16-11 a year ago in singles play, while Goity Zapico was 22-12. Fellow sophomores Luca Miremont, Marek Pazdera, and Lucca Pagnaton posted strong fall seasons and will be in the mix for the Owls as they move into 2026.
Newcomers to the team include transfer Vanja Hodzic, a junior from Tuzla, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bullion Sharp, and Lucca Acioly, all of whom will vie for spots in 2026.
THIS WEEK
The two teams have met 13 times, with the Owls holding the 8-5 edge. FAU defeated the Ospreys 4-0 in the last meeting held on February 2 a year ago in Jacksonville.
UCSB holds the all-time series at 4-0, including a 4-1 win last February.
