ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men's tennis opened the 2026 individual season at the Bedford Cup Invitational last weekend.

The event was hosted by UCF at the US National Training Center and featured teams from throughout the state.

While the newcomers and returners had successful singles matches, it was doubles where the Owls really shined.

The doubles team of Mark Havlicek and Marek Pazdera used this year's tournament as their breakout, solidifying themselves as the best duo in the state with a 6-4 win over Florida, the tournament's No. 1 seed, and a 6-4 win for the championship over Florida State.

Ricardo Gonzalez, FAU's Director of Tennis
"Overall, I am extremely pleased with our performance this weekend. It was good to see the boys competing once again. We are all pushing each other and everyone is really improving their level of play.

"Shoutout to Marek (Pazdera) and Mark (Havlicek) for winning the doubles draw. They are a strong pair and complement each other very well. They keep getting better and better together."
