Owls Hosts UTSA on Thursday Before Final Non-Conference Match

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic's women's soccer team will host UTSA for the first American Conference matchup of the season on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the Owls will play their last non-conference match of the year against North Dakota State at 6 p.m. at FAU Soccer Stadium. Both games will be on FAUSports.com

Thursday's matchup marks the tenth time that the Owls (2-5-1) face the Roadrunners (4-2-2). Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m. On Sunday, FAU will host North Dakota State (4-4-0) for the second time in program history. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on FAUSports.com. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for both matches to secure a player card, available while supplies last. On Thursday, fans will have the chance to enter a raffle to win a TV. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission.

ABOUT THE OWLS

Head Coach Patrick Baker enters his 13th season at the helm of the Owls. Baker is one of the top 40 winningest active Division I women's soccer head coaches.
The Owls enter their third season in the American Conference.
Defender Daniella Diaz, midfielder Morgan McDonald, and forward Michelle Horan were named the Owls' three players to watch by the American.
FAU has 12 newcomers on the roster in 2025.
Graduate student Sloane Young leads the team in goals with three.
Transfer Sydney Neira leads the Owls in assists on the season with two.
Hailey Santiago has two goals on the year and leads the Owls with 11 shots.

ABOUT THE ROADRUNNERS

Derek Pittman is in his eighth season at the helm at UTSA.
Last week, the Roadrunners shut out East Texas A&M 3-0.
Thursday's match marks the third away contest of the season.
Kamryn Watson was named American Freshman of the Week (Sept. 8).
Midfielder Zoë May leads the roadrunners with two goals.

ABOUT THE BISON

Head Coach Mike Regan enters his eighth season at the helm for North Dakota State.
The Bison shut out MSU Moorhead 1-0 on their senior day.
Prior to making the trip to Boca Raton, they fell to UC Santa Barbara to enter their bye week.
NDSU has two leading goal scorers with three goals each on the season (Morgan Russman and Isabel Garcia)
The starting goalkeeper, Hannah Stipp, has recorded 20 saves with a 4-4-0 record.

SERIES HISTORY

The series history against UTSA dates back to Sept. 27, 2013.
UTSA leads the series 3-2-4. The last matchup was in San Antonio, Texas, where the Owls fell 2-1.
The last time the roadrunners made a trip to Boca Raton, the match resulted in a 1-1 draw (Sept. 22).
Florida Atlantic faced North Dakota State in Coral Gables, Fla., in a neutral-site match where they lost 2-1.
