Box Score

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer was edged out on Thursday night at FAU Soccer Stadium by East Carolina, 1-0, halting the Owls' winning streak at three.

The string of shutout play for the Owls (6-6-4, 4-3-0) ended at just under 327 minutes when the Pirates (3-4-8, 2-2-3) scored the only goal of the match, early in the second half.

THE TURNING POINT/THE FINISH
The only tally came after an ECU corner kick was headed across the box, and eventually converted into the net, in the 56th minute. The Owls held possession for much of the remainder of the match but were kept to just two shots in that time as the visitors iced away the victory.

The Owls also doubled the Pirates in corner kicks, 6-3, with five coming after the break.
ECU did not have a shot on target besides the goal.
