CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Florida Atlantic Head Women's Golf Coach
Heather Bowie Young will compete in her first U.S. Senior Women's Open beginning Thursday, Aug. 21 at San Diego CC in Chula Vista, California. Bowie Young qualified for the championship via a Top 10 finish at the 2025 LPGA Legends Championship in May.
After playing a key part on two National Championship teams at the University of Texas, Bowie Young played 14 seasons on the LPGA Tour. She was a member of the 2003 United States Solheim Cup team and won the 2005 Jamie Farr Owens Corning LPGA Classic. Bowie Young took the helm of FAU women's golf in 2021. This will be her 19th appearance in a USGA Championship:

THE COURSE
San Diego Country Club will play as a par 73 at 6,219 yards. Established in 1921, it is the oldest private country club in San Diego.
THE FIELD
The field of 120 competitors is a "who's who" of LPGA legends, including World Golf Hall of Famers Annika Sorenstam, Laura Davies, Karrie Webb, and Juli Inkster. Leta Lindley is the defending champion. The winner will receive an exemption to the 2025 U.S. Women's Open.
