WICHITA, Kan. – Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Wichita to compete in the 2024 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday afternoon, hosted by Wichita State.
This will mark the second AAC cross country championships that the Owls participate in. The races will be broadcasted on ESPN+. The women will run the 6K at 5:05 p.m. ET, while the men will take on an 8K run, beginning at 5:50 p.m. ET. Florida Atlantic looks to continue their successful season that has seen long-time program records fall.

Women (FSU XC Invite)
- In just her third race of her collegiate career, Constance Pittet came in first for Florida Atlantic and set a new program record after 14 years with a time of 17:30.9
- Andi VanMeter came in second for the Owls with a time of 17:51.7 and is now fifth in program history
- Senior Elyssa Toal set a new record as she placed 20th overall with a time of 18:09.3. She is now No. 10 in program history in the 5K
- Leah Helms placed 26th overall with a time of 18:15.4
- Following closely behind was Jessica Hatch, as she registered a time of 18:18.9 in the 30th spot
- The Owls had five runners claim a spot in the top 30
- In her first cross country race, Rosa ten Berg registered a 18:34.3
Men (FSU XC Invite)
- As a team, Florida Atlantic recorded 216 points on the day
- Samuel Henery got it started for the Owls when he was the first to cross the finish line
- Seconds behind was senior Paul Glick with a time of 26:52.1
- Noah Curfman was the third Owl to cross the finish line and came in 63rd with a 27:10.7
- In their third race of the season, Joseph Garcia (27:26.5), Jake Jacoby (27:50.8), and Enrique Toro (28:05.4) all finished consecutively
- Out of 116 runners, three Owls placed in the top 60
- The Owls started off the season strong at the Florida Atlantic Invitational as the women's team placed first out of six teams for the first time since 2019
- Senior Toal secured the number one spot in program history for racing in the South County Regional Park during the tenth annual FAU Invitational
- On the men's side Paul Glick came in fifth overall to help the Owls claim third place to kick off the 2024 season
- At the UNF Invite, freshman Pittet placed first for Florida Atlantic on the day and was one of the six to claim a spot in the top 25
- The last race, Pittet set a new program record after nearly 14 years, now holding the best 5K time in school history with a mark of 17:32.9. Pittet placed seventh overall and came in first for Florida Atlantic.
- Many records were set on the day at the FSU Invite as VanMeter and Toal also set new program records.
The Owls will conclude their cross country season with the NCAA South Regionals, on Friday, Nov. 15 in Tallahassee, Fla., at Apalachee Regional Park
