Owls Complete the 2024 AAC Championship; Pittet Named All-Conference

WICHITA, Kan. - Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday evening.Â
For the first time this season, the Owls ran in a cold and windy location. The women started with a 6K to start the evening in Wichita. In the second appearance for this race in program history, the women's team placed seventh out of 13 teams, making a significant jump from last season, where they placed 11th. The men's team placed in 12th on the evening.Â

On the women's side Constance Pittet, Jessica Hatch, Elyssa Toal, Andi VanMeter, Isabel O'Brien, Leah Helms, and Kayla Groppe competed for Florida Atlantic. Pittet came in first for the Owls as she placed eighth overall. Pittet was named on the women's AAC All-Conference team.  After tonight's performance, Pittet is No. 4 in program history in the 6K. On the men's side, Enrique Toro, Paul Glick, Noah Curfman, Joseph Garcia, Donovan Petty, and Samuel Henery ran for the Owls. The men finished the night with 354 points.Â

- Out of 100 runners, Pittet came in first for Florida Atlantic with a 21:16.2 in her first appearance in the postseason

- Henery got it started for the Owls when he was the first to cross the finish line.
- Right behind was the freshman Petty with a time of 27:00.0
- Back-to-back were Curfman and Garcia in their first appearance in an AAC Championship
- Glick and Toro crossed the finish line last for Florida Atlantic in 89th and 90th place overall
UP NEXT
The Owls will travel back to Tallahassee, Fla., to compete in the 2024 NCAA Regionals at the Apalachee Regional Park on Friday, Nov. 15 to close out the cross country season.
