CONCORD, N.C. - Florida Atlantic's men's and women's cross country teams competed in the American Conference Championship on Saturday morning.Â
The Owls competed in weather they are not typically used to. They raced in a colder climate than the weather in sunny Florida. The men started with an 8K to start the morning in Concord. In their third appearance at the American Championships, the men totaled 360 points on the day, finishing 12th. On the women's side, the Owls finished ninth overall with 267 points.

Morgan Pennington competed for Florida Atlantic. ten Berg came in first for the Owls. On the men's side,
Paul Glick,
Donovan Petty,
Samuel Henery,
Nazayer Franco,
Noah Highsmith, and Nathan Webb represented FAU.
WomenÂ
- ten Berg finished with a time of 22:08.1 as the top Owl finisher for the second consecutive meet.
- Toal came in second for the Owls as she placed 53rd overall on the course with a time of 22:17.6
- Seconds behind was Brown, running a 22:28.4.Â
- Finishing 64th overall, Reumann registered a 22:42.1
- Helms finished 68th overall (22:52.4)
- Dethier (22:59.0) and Anderson (23:45.7) finished 70th and 81st overall in their first postseason run with the Owls
MenÂ
- As a team, Florida Atlantic recorded 360Â points on the day
- Glick got it started for the Owls when he was the first to cross the finish line.
- Right behind was the freshman Petty with a time of 26:36.8. He recorded a career-best at the American Championships, last year running a 27:00.0.
- Back-to-back were Franco and Highsmith in their first appearance in an American Championship
- Webb placed 90th overall in his first postseason appearance.Â
The Owls will conclude their cross country season with the NCAA South Regionals on Friday, Nov. 14, in Huntsville, Alabama, at John Hunt Park.
