BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic men's tennis team will take to the road for the first time in 2024 after building a perfect 3-0 mark at home with wins over Georgia Southern, Louisiana, and Stetson. The Owls will first face William & Mary on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m. That match will be played in Williamsburg, Virginia. Two days later on Saturday, Jan. 27, FAU will play Pennsylvania on the campus of Virginia and will then play either #1 Virginia and Northern Arizona on Sunday, Jan. 28, also at Virginia.
FAU has three players that will enter the week with a 3-0 record, led by
Alberto Colas riding a seven-game winning streak. Transfers
Juan Martin Jalif and
John Bernard also hold 3-0 marks. As a team, the Owls are 15-3 in singles play and hold a 6-0 doubles record.
The Owls are 5-2 all-time versus William & Mary, last playing in 2018. The FAU vs William & Mary match will serve as William & Mary's first outing of 2024. Florida Atlantic is 4-3 versus UPenn with their last meeting coming in 2013. No matter who the Owls play on Sunday, either Northern Arizona or host Virginia, it will be the first meeting between the two schools.
