First ’24 Road Match is a Win

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – On the road for the first time in 2024, the Florida Atlantic's men's tennis team (4-0) built on strong doubles play with competitive singles play to down host William & Mary (0-1) by a 5-2 score.
With doubles tied at 1-1, all eyes turned to court one where the team of Jiri Jenicek and Simon Myslivec were tied with their William & Mary foe at 6-6. The duo went up 4-1 only to find themselves tied at 6-6 once more. FAU would win the final two tiebreak points for the win. The Jenicek and Myslivec duo not only won their match, but the win also gave the Owls the first point of the day and they remained undefeated on the year (4-0) as did Alberto Colas and Juan Martin Jalif with a court two victory.
Singles play pick followed with Joao Graca earning the squad's first singles point with a win on court three. FAU moved the match to 3-0 via a Mark Havlicek three-set win and the Owls clinched the match on court two with a three-set 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win by Jiri Jenicek. Juan Martin Jalif would supply the final point on court four.
The Owls move to 4-0 on the year and will stay on the road playing two matches at Virginia this weekend.
