Owls Come Up Short Against the Pirates

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic fell short in the first AAC conference game of the season against the Pirates of East Carolina.
The first conference game of the season resulted in a scoreless battle through the opening 45 minutes of the match. The Owls defense held the Pirates to only four shots in the first half. East Carolina scored in the 65th minute to take the lead.
Tonight's match against East Carolina marked the first complete game of the season for Owls goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez. She recorded two saves on the night.
