BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women's soccer is on the road Thursday night, traveling to Philadelphia to take on Temple.
With three regular season matches to go, FAU (6-6-4, 4-3-0) is tied with UAB for third place in the American standings with 12 points. Temple (9-4-2, 2-2-2) has eight points and is among a trio of teams in sixth. The Owls versus Owls contest is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff, in a match broadcasted on ESPN+ from the Temple Sports Complex.
ABOUT THE (FAU) OWLS
- The Owls saw a three-game win streak come to a close last Thursday, falling in the slimmest of margins to East Carolina at home, 1-0.
- ECU scored the first goal against the Owls in just a few seconds under 327 minutes of game play, and in 18 days of real time – which was coincidentally the same night of FAU's most recent loss (Sept 27).
- Still, FAU ranks second in the American in goals (27), saves (83) and save percentage (.783).
- Individually, Hailey Santiago is tied for the league lead with 11 goals and paces the field in total points with 24. She is also among three players atop the leaderboard with three game-winning goals.
- Lola Hathorne is tied for third in the conference with six assists and is sixth alone with 16 total points.
- Keeper Lily Holden still does not meet the minimum qualifications, but if she did, she would be first in goals against average (0.65) and save percentage (.886), and third in saves per game (4.88). Her three shutouts would be fifth highest.
ABOUT THE (TEMPLE) OWLS
- Temple, coming off a 4-15 mark a year ago, has its most wins in a season since 2015.
- The Owls' American slate has been a literal back-and-forth: W/L/T/T/W/L. Their last outing was a 2-0 home loss to Memphis last Thursday.
- Victoria Pimenta and Katelyn Revelle are the team's leaders with five goals each; Pimenta has five assists and 15 points to top the squad.
- Ana Zivkovic has the most shutouts among all American goalkeepers with six and is fourth in the league with a 1.25 goals against average.
- Chris Shaw is in his third season as the team's head coach, with a 15-36-2 record.
ABOUT THE SERIES
FAU has won all three matchups in the series, all coming since the Owls joined the American. It was back-to-back shutouts to start (2-0 in Boca Raton in 2023 and 3-0 in Philadelphia in 2024) before a 3-2 victory last season in Boca.
