BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team, ranked No. 59 nationally, held the 2023 Conference USA Championship's No. 3 seed after a strong body of regular-season work and were pitted against No. 6 seed Charlotte, Friday afternoon in Houston Texas. FAU came away with the 4-0 win and will next play UTSA at 1 p.m. EST, Saturday.

The Owls' doubles team of Hunter Robbins and Alberto Colas were the first to come off the court with a 6-2 win. Charlotte captured court one, turning all eyes to court two for the deciding best-of-three doubles point, with FAU's Joao Graca and Filip Krolo coming away with the 7-6 (7-2) victory.

Holding a 1-0 lead, the Owls moved into singles play where Colas quickly picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win, putting FAU up 2-0. The final two and match clinching points came in short order, with Nicolas Acevedo, on court three, and Alvaro Fernanda-Horta, on court five, coming off the courts with straight-set wins at nearly the same time to give FAU the 4-0 win.
