He and Kevin Huempfner captured their court one doubles match at Stetson and he followed it up with a court one in in singles play

He and Kevin Huempfner suffered a 6-4 loss to Charlotte in the quarterfinal round of the C-USA Championship, but Acevedo responded with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court three to help send the Owls to the tournament's semifinal round
The semifinals saw Acevedo and Huempfner drop their doubles match to Louisiana Tech and he then picked up the first set of his singles match, dropped the second and ultimately fell in 7-5 in the third

As a junior player, Acevedo won two grade four International Tennis Federation tournaments in doubles
He also notched two ITF tournament victories in singles in 2017
In 2018, Acevedo had a stellar victory over the player currently ranked No. 524 by the Association of Tennis Professionals at the Trujillo 15K ITF futures tournament
