BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball resumes C-USA play on Friday when they host Middle Tennessee. After a five-game winning streak, the Owls will be looking to snap a four-game drought and pick up their first league win of the season.

WEEKEND PROMOTIONS

FAU Baseball is partnering with Boca Helping Hands all weekend for a food drive. Fans who bring three cans of non-perishable food will receive free admission.

OWLS IN REVIEW

The Owls hit three first-inning home runs on Wednesday to jump out to a 4-0 lead on No. 17 Miami. The Canes battled back, however. They posted a seven-spot of their own in the fourth inning highlighted by two three-run home runs. The Owls chipped away with a Dylan Goldstein RBI double in the eighth but that was where the comeback hopes ended in a 10-5 defeat.

WHO'S HOT

Nolan Schanuel homered again on Wednesday and is now up to nine for the season. 'The Boynton Bomber' has 36 career HRs and is only 11 away from tying the program record held by Mike Ryan (1982-84).

Dylan Goldstein homered, doubled, and drove in three runs on Wednesday. Goldstein is 5 for his last 9 and enters the weekend with an eight-game hitting streak.

Sam Drumheller continues to be the Owls most effective reliever. The lefty's ERA sits at 1.38 after another scoreless outing on Wednesday.

THE OPPONENT

Middle Tennessee took two of three from Western Kentucky last weekend and then knocked off Tennessee Tech 13-5 on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders are led offensively by senior JT Mabry with a .418 average. Catcher/OF Jared Vetetoe has nine RBIs so far. The redshirt freshman was a preseason All-C-USA selection as was top starting pitcher Jaden Hamm. Hamm is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA. MTSU has not announced a starting rotation for the weekend as of Thursday night.

OPPONENT HISTORY

FAU and MTSU haven't met since 2021 in the C-USA Tournament (14-8 FAU win). The sides haven't opposed each other in a regular season game since 2019. Overall, the Owls lead the all-time series 26-16 including wins in 12 of the last 13 matchups dating back to 2016.

UPCOMING

The Owls will remain home for a midweek matchup with UCF on Tuesday and then a three-game series with Rice next weekend.
