#63 FAU Wins Extends Winning Streak to Four

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis, ranked No. 63 nationally, hosted their third match in as many days and won their fourth consecutive match, 5-2, on Friday over visiting South Alabama.

Expected to be a close match, the Owls came out energized and ready, grabbing the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Holding the 1-0 lead, Alberto Colas made quick work of his opponent with a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Alvaro Fernandez Horta moved the match to 3-0 Owls, winning court five 6-2, 6-3. Nicolas Acevedo clinched the match for FAU with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 win, while the remaining three matches were played out.

Senior Kevin Huempfner won his court two match 6-3, 1-6, 10-8, while Filip Krolo and Hunter Robbins fell on a set three tiebreaker for the 5-2 final.
