BOCA RATON, Fla. – On Sunday, August 21, the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team will square off against Detroit Mercy. Match time is set for noon at the FAU Soccer Stadium.

The Owls enter Sunday's contest at 0-1 after a defeat to Alabama in the season opener, while Detroit Mercy stands at 1-0 after defeating Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday.

- This is the third all-time meeting between these two programs. Detroit Mercy won the first match in 1997, 5-0, before the Owls took the rematch in 1998 by a 5-1 final tally
- FAU faced a tough Alabama squad in the opener and was out-shot by a 13-5 margin in the 4-0 loss. The Owls also trailed the Crimson Tide in corner kicks 9-2
- Five different Owls registered a shot against Alabama in Gi Krstec, Bri Austin, Amanda Martin, Elin Simonardottir and Leila Etemadi
- Lexi Gonzalez picked up five saves in net during her FAU debut
- The Titans earned a season-opening win over Florida Gulf Coast 2-1. Sophia Blankenship and Gabby Ketola both scored for Detroit Mercy
- Following Sunday's match, the Owls will host Miami on Thursday, August 25, for a 7 p.m. start time
