MOBILE, Ala. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team, ranked No. 50 nationally, worked to make the old saying "three's a charm" come true, but the Owls could not make it a reality falling to the University of South Alabama 4-3, on Saturday. It was their third match in as many days, and all were played on the road.

The Owls end the dual match regular season with a 17-5 record and will next prepare of the Conference USA Championships. The 17 wins ties the second-best win total under head coach Ricardo Gonzalez and are two shy of the program's best, which they have accomplished three times in the last four years (19-11 in 2020-21 and 19-10 in both 2017-18 and 2018-19). The C-USA Championship match results will count toward that season ending total. Regardless of the tournament outcome, the Owls have posted the best winning percentage to date under Gonzalez's direction.
