Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team is three shots back in the team competition after two days at the Conference USA Championship. In the medalist competition,
Letizia Bagnoli has a five-shot lead entering Wednesday's final round.
- Bagnoli entered Tuesday with a three-shot lead but that quickly grew to eight after just five holes
- The senior would finish her first nine holes in 33 (-3). After a rocky four-hole stretch early on the back nine, she recovered with a birdie at the par-five 18th – her fifth birdie of the day
- A round of one-over 73 tied as the best round of the day with UTSA's Ana Gonzalez (+4). Gonzalez is solo second, five back of Bagnoli after 36 holes.
- The two will play together for the second day in a row on Wednesday and will be joined by North Texas' Shreya Pal (+6)
- The second-best round of the day belonged to FAU's Rosa Barnak
- Barnak circled four birdies on day two in route to a two-over, 74. She climbed 26 places on the leaderboard into a tie for 10th.
- The Owls received a big boost on the team leaderboard thanks to two closing birdies by Olivia Bergner. Bergner (+13) is tied for 14th entering the final round
- Blanka Decker (+17) is tied for 29th while Kacey Walker (+29) is solo 54th
- The Owls are +40 as a team, three back of UTSA in the team competition
The Owls will tee off in the final round at 8:40 am on Wednesday alongside North Texas (+39) and UTSA
