#54 FAU Drops Match to #37 San Diego

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team wrapped up their west coast trip with a 7-0 loss to host San Diego, on Tuesday.

The match was the highest ranked opponent for the Owls, who are ranked No. 54 in Wednesday' ITA poll. USD entered the match ranked No. 37 nationally, in the same poll.

The FAU team was not the only one to receive a national ranking, on Wednesday. The doubles duo of Carles Sarrio/Hunter Robbins entered the match ranked No. 41 nationally. They fell to host August Holmgren/Gui Osorio, who are ranked No. 66. The Sarrio/Robbins duo fell to 8-2 overall.

FAU's Kevin Huempfner took the nation's No. 6 singles player to three sets. He captured the first set 6-4 but fell in the second 7-6 (8-6) and the third set went to USD 12-10. Nicolas Jadoun represented the Owls on court five. Jadoun pushed his opponent, ranked No. 106 nationally, to three sets but fell 2-6, 6-1, 6-2
