BOCA RATON, Fla. – Letizia Bagnoli of the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team continues to light it up on the course, capturing her fifth Conference USA Golfer of the Week award, as announced by the league Wednesday. This marks the senior's fifth C-USA Golfer of the Week title, which is now the most by a C-USA women's golfer in a single season.
The women's golf team is coming off competing in the Clover Cup in Mesa, Arizona, which featured eight ranked teams and a handful of top-ranked golfers. Bagnoli rose to the occasion once again, shooting a 69-72-70 to finish with a 211. Rounding out the final round being five-under par helped her tie for sixth among 90 golfers, ahead of four of which were ranked in the top 100 in the NCAA. She ended the weekend with two eagles, which was tied for the most in the tournament field, as well as recorded 12 birdies. The Italy product led the tournament field in par 4s with an average of 3.77 (-7).
Bagnoli's fifth conference Golfer of the Week title elevated her ahead Camila Serrano (FIU), who previously was in a three-way tie for the most weekly honors in a single season with four. Next month, FAU will host the C-USA Championship at the PGA National Resort from Monday, April 18 to Wednesday, April 20.
FAU will wrap up the month of March in Tennessee for the Chattanooga Classic at the Council Fire Golf Club from March 27 to 29.
