BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team is scheduled to host back-to-back matches this weekend, and both are important to the Owls' regional rankings. FAU will first play host to Mercer on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. The Owls will turnaround for a Sunday, Feb. 20 tilt versus Georgia State, also at home, scheduled for 10 a.m.
Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center, on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
Last Saturday, FAU tied the program's best start since 2002 at 6-0 overall and will look to set a new mark on Saturday. The Owls continue to be led by the steady play of junior
Kevin Huempfner and sophomore
Finn Stodder. The German duo both hold a 6-0 dual match singles record. Not far behind is sophomore
Gerard Escandell, who is 5-1 on the season.
While the two teams have not met in team competition, they are familiar foes by playing in several of the same Fall tournaments.
