BOCA RATON, Fla. – The last time Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team opened a season 6-0, many of the Owls were in diapers. In the Spring of 2002, Nicolas Jadoun had yet to be born, but the Dakar Senegal native has been instrumental in the 2022 Owls' winning streak, including Saturday's 5-2 win over Stetson.

The Owls topping the Hatters marks the third-consecutive win over an in-state foe, which now includes wins over FGCU, USF and Stetson.

The team started strong by running the doubles' table. Singles play began with Kevin Heumpfner winning in straight sets to improve to 6-0 on the season. Finn Stodder remained perfect as well with a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 win.

Both Carlos Sarrio, court two, and Gerard Escandell, court five, won in straight sets, while Escandell improved his record to 5-1.

"Not our best tennis today, but we competed well and got the job done," said Lasprilla. "Shoutout to our fans who have been showing up every match and supporting us. We will get back to work and be ready for Mercer and Georgia State next weekend."
