BOCA RATON, Fla. – Great twin-bill weekend showing for Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team, shining a light on the program from California to Florida.

The duo of Nicolas Acevedo and Filip Krolo defeated Idaho in straight sets advancing to the ITA National Fall Championship round of 16 where they fell to Baylor's Jake Bass and Jua Grassi Mazzuchi 4-6, 6-1, 11-9. The duo are the first Owls to represent FAU in the Fall national tournament and have set themselves up for a good position in the Spring's national rankings.

While they were playing in California, their teammates participated in the 2022 Bedford Cup, hosted by Florida State. Five Owls competed in Tallahassee compiling in two finals' wins. The doubles duo of Kevin Huempfner and Hunter Robbins captured the doubles final with an 8-7(7-4) win over USF's best pair. FAU also appeared in the singles main draw finale with Heumpfner falling to FSU 6-2, 7-6 (4-7). Robbins won the consolation or "B" draw 4-6, 6-3, 10-5.

The Bedford Cup concludes the fall season. FAU will turn its attention towards building it momentum on the courts and in the classroom. The dual match season and the home season on Saturday, Jan. 14 versus UC Santa Barbara. Matches are held at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center on FAU's Boca Raton campus.
