BOCA RATON, Fla. – The penultimate regular-season match of the 2022 season for the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team is on the Owls' slate. FAU will travel to Middle Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 23, for a 1 p.m. eastern kickoff. The Owls are looking to lock up a berth to the Conference USA Championship Tournament with a win.
- This mark's FAU's only match of the week with the Sunday matinee against the Blue Raiders
- The Owls are looking to rebound from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Louisiana Tech this past Sunday at home
- In the 2-1 loss, Bri Austin recorded her team-leading sixth goal of the season, which came as the equalizer in the second half
- Austin is only one goal off her single-season high, which came in her sophomore season at Villanova
- Austin currently is tied for third in Conference USA in goals and is ranked fourth in C-USA in points in 17
- The Owls are used to playing close games, with 11 of their 17 games being decided by one goal or less
- Scoring multiple goals has been a recipe for success for FAU this year. In games that the Owls have scored multiple goals, FAU is 6-0
- Hailey Landrus has served as a facilitator from the defensive back spot this season. Landrus is tied with Austin for the team lead in assists with five. That ties the Owl duo for fourth in C-USA
- This has been a close series, as FAU is 9-10 against Middle Tennessee dating back to the 2000 season
- The Blue Raiders came away with a 1-0 win last year in Boca Raton
