BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's
Enrique Dimayuga and
Max Sturdza earned All-Conference USA honors, the league office announced Tuesday. Dimayuga landed with the first team while Sturdza landed on the third.
This season Dimayuga posted the best stroke average in team history, a 71.67. He also recorded the best Par 4 (4.0322) and second-best Par 5 (4.6825) scoring averages in program history. Dimayuga led FAU in par-or-better rounds with eight to give him 16 for his career, the 12
th most among any Owls golfer. His Rounds of 66 in the
Bayou City Collegiate Classic and
Desert Intercollegiate tie for the sixth best scores in team history.
Sturdza also exceled this season. The Switzerland native's 72.53 stroke average ranks as the eighth best in program history. He also recorded the second-best Par 3 (3.0159) and seventh-best Par 4 (4.1177) scoring averages in team history. Sturdza collected five par-or-better rounds, including a 66 – tied for the sixth-best score in team history – in
The Goodwin.
FAU now has three all-conference selections on its roster, as
Alex Maguire earned third-team All-Conference and All-Freshman honors a season ago. Â
"I am very excited to hear about Enrique and Max's All-Conference selections," FAU coach
Ryan Jamison said. "I know they have worked extremely hard this year and have many exciting years ahead at FAU. They are both a pleasure to coach and be around. I look forward to them improving on their current form and accomplishing things even beyond their imagination."
One of those accomplishments could be the NCAA Regionals, as both are contending for selections. The GOLF Channel is airing the NCAA Regional selection show on Wednesday at 2 p.m., and Dimayuga and Sturdza are hoping to see their names line the screen.Â
