Brugman Earns All-Academic Scholar Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic junior men's golfer Jack Brugman has been named a Cobalt Golf All-American Scholar, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Monday afternoon.
Brugman competed in seven events for the Owls this past season, with his best finish a tie for 42nd at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational in October. The native of South Africa recorded an adjusted scoring average of 75.5 and 31 birdies in 17 total rounds.
626 Division I men's golfers from 202 schools earned All-America Scholar Honors. Brugman was one of 16 recipients representing the American Conference.
About Cobalt Golf All-American Scholar Award
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior, both academically and athletically, in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
