ORLANDO Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team commenced the first half of the UCF Knights Invite Friday. FAU competed in the long jump, 400 meter hurdles, 200 meter dash and 1500 meter run, with several events left on the slate tomorrow.

- The jumpers got the action started, as Ameion Hamlet finished 20th in the long jump (4.73m), while Linsey Moorer finished in 23rd (4.42m)
- Kendall Kirkland finished the 400 meter hurdles in 22nd with a personal record time of 1:08.55
- Roshelle Francois delivered a personal record in the 200 meter dash for the second straight meet, tallying a time of 24.49. Cara Simpson followed in 16th (24.82)
- The night ended with the 1500 meter run, as Lauren Macon led the Owls in the 11th (4:45.66). Paige Saiz followed in 14th (4:52.16), Jordan Stevens in 16th (4:54.39), Morgan Sharp in 19th (4:57.80) and Alexis Hill in 23rd (5:04.67). Macon, Saiz, Sharp and Hill earned personal records

The Owls will finish the invite tomorrow with action beginning at 11 a.m. with the triple jump. The weekend's meet will finish with the 1600 meter relay.
