CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis shut out Southern Miss, 4-0, in the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals on Friday morning, to advance to the semis.

Notables:
- The Owls (9-10) picked up the early advantage with two wins on the doubles courts
- Alvaro Fernandez Horta and Finn Stodder quickly dispatched of their court three opponents, 6-1, and Kevin Huempfner and Hunter Robbins were 6-3 winners on No. 2
- With that – and the eventual full victory – FAU improved to 7-3 this season when winning the doubles point
- Huempfner and Stodder both whitewashed their USM (7-3) singles opponents in the first set, 6-0. Huempfner would make it 2-0 Owls with a 6-0, 6-4 win on No. 2
- Coming in next was Fernandez Horta, winning on No. 3, 6-4, 6-1
- And Stodder earned the clincher by defeating his counterpart on No. 6, 6-0, 6-4
- Maxime Lapraille and Filip Krolo had each won their first sets as well, with Krolo leading in his second when the match was decided
