BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 91
st-ranked Florida Atlantic University women's golf team will begin the Conference USA Championship on Monday and is in strong position to earn its highest finish ever.
The tournament will take place April 19-21 at Dade City's Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, a par 72 course with a yardage of 6,267. Live stats are available
here.
"We believe we can compete with each of the teams in our conference and look forward to the opportunity to play," FAU coach
Aimee Neff said. "Even though it is our Conference Championship, we have a similar approach to our other tournaments, which is to focus on what we can control and to play with conviction. Go Owls!"
FAU enters the tournament as C-USA's third-highest ranked team, per Golfweek, behind only No. 37 North Texas and No. 50 UTSA. A third-place finish would be a program best for FAU.
Justine Fournand, Golfweek's 47
th-ranked individual, will be crucial to the Owls' efforts. She's won back-to-back tournaments, the
Low Country Intercollegiate and
Brickyard Collegiate, and C-USA Golfer of the Week awards. If Fournand finishes 18
th or better, she'd become the best C-USA Championship performer in program history.
