BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis is set for three straight days of home matches at the FAU Tennis Complex, beginning on Thursday morning.
The Owls will take on South Alabama at 10:30 a.m. that day, Liberty at that same time the following day, and then host No. 19 UCF to close out the weekend, Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.
Owls' Weekend in Review
FAU (4-4) had the same timeframe of matches last weekend, winning two of three. The Owls picked up 5-2 and 7-0 road wins over Stetson and Georgia Southern, and then at home Sunday, fell to No. 36 USF, 5-2.
Kevin Huempfner won all three doubles and all three singles matches he competed in, and for his efforts,
was rewarded with C-USA Male Athlete of the Week honors.
Owls' Weekend in Preview
South Alabama (5-5) has played three matches in the last six days, including Tuesday, a 6-1 loss to UCF. The Jaguars and Owls met back on Feb. 7 in Mobile, with FAU taking a 4-3 victory. The team's duo of Loic Cloes and Clement Marzol is No. 52 among doubles pairs according to ITA.
Liberty (8-4) is on a three-match winning streak, the last being a 7-0 shutout this past Saturday of Radford. They'll have another match result heading into Thursday, as they play at USF Wednesday afternoon.
UCF (6-2) has won their last four, with the aforementioned result against USA being the only time an opponent scored in that stretch (the other three being shutouts of UNF, FGCU and Stetson). The Knights have ranked singles players in No. 16 Gabriel Decamps and No. 52 Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi, and the two together are No. 12 amongst doubles pairs.

What's Next
The Owls return to the road for the next four matches, starting in Houston against Texas Tech and Rice on March 20 and 21. The only home contest remaining on the docket as of now is Sunday, April 18, taking on Temple at noon.
