FINAL RESULTS
LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team climbed two spots each of the last two days at the Pat Bradley Invitational, finishing just one stroke outside of the top five, and at the end of play, were led by
Rosa Barnak's individual runner-up finish on the tournament's Cypress Links course.
Barnak finished among a group of three players that were just a single stroke behind medalist Haley Yerxa of FGCU. The Owls' senior and native of Humlebaek, Denmark, was the only golfer in the field of 78 to finish under par in every round, with three straight 71's, climbing seven spots after round two (13th to sixth) and another four on Monday.
Among the entrants, she finished tied for first on Par-4 holes at 3-under, and tied for second with 12 birdies – towards the Owls' total of 39, fourth most among all teams. The team's 3-over 291 total on Monday tied for the best in the field with James Madison.
Boston College overcame host FIU on the tournament's final day to beat the Panthers by two strokes, and third-place James Madison by three. Rounding out the top five teams were FGCU and Minnesota, with the Golden Gophers again finishing just one stroke lower than FAU.
Next individually for the Owls were
Blanka Decker and
Letizia Bagnoli, each saving their best round for last. Decker jumped up 11 slots on the leaderboard with her final day 1-under 71, and finished in a tie for 16th (74-75-71 – 220). Bagnoli was 1-over on Monday, and was two behind Decker, among those in 23rd (74-75-73 – 222). Her 40 pars during the weekend tied for second most in the field, and Decker's 38 tied for sixth.

What's Next:
The fall portion of the team's schedule is complete, and the Owls will return home to prep for the spring. The opener comes in February in a home hosted event. The FAU Paradise Invitational is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 7 and Tuesday, Feb. 8, and will be held at Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton.
