TEMPE, Ariz. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis' first match on this western road trip saw the Owls edged out by Arizona State Thursday night, 4-3.

Notables:
- FAU fell in the doubles portion, though after the point was tallied, the No. 1 court finished out and saw Maxime Lapraille and Filip Krolo earn a 7-6 win
- With back-to-back straight set singles wins, the Owls took a 2-1 lead. Lapraille was victorious on No. 1 (6-2, 6-3), and Alvaro Fernandez Horta at No. 4, by the same 6-2, 6-3 score
- After the Sun Devils tied it, winning on the third court, Gerard Escandell made it a 3-2 Owl advantage with a 6-3, 6-2 decision on No. 5
- ASU tied it once more, winning court No. 2
- Finn Stodder forced a third set in the final, No. 6, matchup. But ASU would prevail in the end and take the match, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2
