BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University women's soccer continues to add to the team's roster for the upcoming campaign, as Virginia native Brooke Jones is the 11th newcomer to the squad.
Jones, who plays forward and midfield, is from Leesburg, Virginia, and spent her freshman academic year at James Madison. She had a successful high school career for Loudoun County, leading the team to the 2019 state championship final match.
Additionally, she previously played for FC Virginia (ECNL and as part of their Development Academy), qualifying the playoffs every year. The DA team was also ranked No. 1 nationally. Off the field, Jones was a four-year honor roll member and held a 4.03 GPA.
Why Jones chose FAU:
"I am beyond excited and grateful to be attending FAU and playing for such an amazing soccer program," said Jones. "As soon as I stepped on campus I knew this was the place for me. The environment here is so positive and really pushes myself and those around me to be at our best on and off the field. It truly feels like home. I am so excited to start my journey at FAU –
a university that instills a commitment to hard work and strive for excellence. I am looking forward to Winning In Paradise and seeing what the future holds. Go Owls!"
Baker on Jones:
"We are fortunate to have Brooke joining our program," said head coach Patrick Baker. "She is a very talented young lady and we feel fortunate that she chose to continue her college career at Florida Atlantic University. Brooke has the potential to be an impactful attacking player in our lineup. She makes the game easy for those around her and we will look for her to add goals / assists to our lineup. Brooke just needs some time in our system and she'll be a key contributor."
