Owls Fall to Marshall in Regular Season Finale, 94-82

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team closed out its regular season with a 94-82 loss to Marshall on Wednesday night. The Owls are now 16-15 overall and finished their Conference USA schedule with an 8-10 record.
The Thundering Herd (15-15, 9-8) built a modest early lead, but FAU managed to stay within striking distance. The margin was six, 32-26, with 5:21 remaining in the first half. The Owls needed just over two minutes to even the score at 34-34, capped by an Aleksandar Zecevic bucket. Marshall answered with a run of its own and hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to go into the half leading 45-38.
FAU fought its way back to within two points twice early in the second half, but were unable to completely close the gap. Marshall hit two straight triples to begin a run that extended the lead to 12, 73-61, and the Owls were unable to get closer than nine points the rest of the way. Â

Notables
- Jailyn Ingram led FAU with 19 points, giving him 1,039 for his career, bumping him up to ninth place on the Owls' career scoring list. He also had six rebounds, tied with Cornelius Taylor and Zecevic for most on the team
- D.J. Robertson scored a career-high 12 points off the bench and dished out three steals.
- Richardson Maitre had 10 points, four rebounds and an assist
